This year’s Annual Top Banker Meeting is packed with actionable insights and practical takeaways on some of the most important topics in community banking you won't want to miss. But an annual meeting is about more than business, it’s about celebrating with friends and colleagues.

Each year we take you to a great location, and this year may be the best yet! The Carmel Valley Ranch is a resort oasis in Central California’s wine country, just a short drive from Monterey and Carmel-By-The-Sea. This 500-acre property is home to a wide variety of exciting activities, great cuisine, championship golf, a spa, and even an on-site creamery.

We’ve created a new agenda for 2024 that includes plenty of time to “Play Your Way” with some activities we’ve picked out, like a Guided Off-Road Excursion or an Outdoor Photography Workshop. And when you’re back in the meeting room your spouse/guests can continue the fun by joining our wine and food tour in Carmel-By-The-Sea.

We are also kicking off this year’s celebration with “Pinot & Pizza” featuring the resort’s own Pinot and pizza baked in a giant outdoor oven on our patio. And as those of you who attended last year’s event know, we closed with Tequila and this year it’s a Whiskey Tasting paired with great local snacks.

  • 10:30 - 11:30: Managing Liquidity in 2025.  What’s the Plan?With the expected Fed movement on rates, the upcoming election and its potential impacts on banking regulation, as well as the continued challenges of tight deposit competition, bankers have to execute their deposit and funding management strategies with care. This breakout session will provide an opportunity to discuss best practices, things to consider, and share strategies for growth in the face of these uncertainties, led by Max Damm, Managing Director, Pacific, IntraFi

Community bank balance sheet allocations must adapt to the changing credit, liquidity, and interest rate landscape. "We will use peer and historical data to explore trends in balance sheet composition common to higher performing institutions, highlighting opportunities that will help you best navigate through a period of compressed margin and lower earnings, a potential downturn in credit, and a continuation of tight liquidity in the months to come.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

As Monterey is located in the middle of the California coast a lot of people drive to Carmel. The closest large city is San Jose, about 80 miles away. But Monterey also has a growing airport!

The Monterey Regional Airport

San Diego (SAN), Los Angeles (LAX), and San Francisco (SFO) have direct flights to Monterey Regional Airport (MRY)

    • Right now, 6 airlines operate out of MRY, including United (SFO, LAX) & Alaska (SAN).
    • Monterey Regional Airport has nonstop flights to 7 cities.
    • Every week, at least 100 domestic flights depart from Monterey Regional Airport.

Carmel Valley Ranch is 13 mi (15-20 mins) from Monterey Regional Airport via Cab, Uber or Lyft.

The full registration fee will be refunded if the written request is received up to 4 weeks before the event and 50 percent if received 2 weeks before the event.
