The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) have issued a third request for comments under the latest Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act of 1996 (EGRPRA) review. Federal regulators are encouraging community banks to comment on regulations that are outdated, unnecessary, or unduly burdensome to community banks.
The agencies are seeking comments on their regulations related to rules of procedure, safety and soundness, and securities.
Comments may be submitted through the agencies’ EGRPRA website, http://egrpra.ffiec.gov. Additional methods of commenting are discussed in the Federal Register notice.
To aid commenters, the notice includes a chart identifying the rules on which the agencies are currently seeking comment. Comments are due March 11, 2025.
